In relation to the fuse box and relay system, the Ford Expedition features two main fuse boxes: one in the engine compartment and another under the dashboard on the passenger side. The engine bay fuse box manages essential components like the starter motor, cooling fan, and headlights. The interior fuse box controls cabin features such as power windows, audio systems, and interior lighting.

WARNING

• Never replace a fuse with one that has a higher amperage rating.
• A fuse with a too-high amperage could damage the electrical part and cause a fire.
• On no account should fuses be repaired (e.g. patched up with tin foil or wire) as this may cause serious damage elsewhere in the electrical circuit or cause a fire.
• If a fuse blows repeatedly, do not keep replacing it. Instead, have the cause for the repeated short circuit or overload tracked and fixed.
• Terminal and harness assignments for individual connectors will vary depending on vehicle equipment level, model, and market.

Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel:

The fuse panel is located under the right-hand side of the instrument panel. To remove the trim panel for access to the fuse box, pull the panel toward you and swing it out away from the side and remove it. To reinstall it, line up the tabs with the grooves on the panel, then push it shut.

To remove the fuse box cover, press in the tabs on both sides of the cover, then pull the cover off. To reinstall the fuse box cover, place the top part of the cover on the fuse panel, then push the bottom part of the cover until you hear it click shut. Gently pull on the cover to make sure it is seated properly.

Power Distribution Box:

The power distribution box is located in the engine compartment. It has high-current fuses that protect your vehicle’s main electrical systems from overloads.
